This story is like so many other horror stories of abuse, however most stories are not shared. Its too personal, private, humiliating and embarrassing. However, I felt God calling me to share my story. I rebelled for sometime and it has taken me ten years to get to this point.
Crushed But Not Broken got its name from II Corinthians 4:8-9 “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down; but not destroyed.” I found this verse during one of the darkest times in my life and I realized that God had never left me, never forsaken me. I had grown up in a Christian home and yet my real relationship with God didn’t start until I was thirty-one years old, only after traveling down the longest and loneliest roads I have ever known.
This is my personal story of domestic violence and how God not only carried me, but brought me through it.
